CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a non-profit program of UCHRA that trains community volunteers to be a voice for the abused and neglected children of Putnam County. Here at CASA, we are working with the juvenile court system to ensure that our children have the safest childhood that can possibly be obtained.

All children need to have hope, especially abused and neglected children. It shouldn't hurt to be a child

How Can You Help?

This Winter at CASA, we are concentraing on recruiting volunteer advocates to serve the children in Putnam County.  Kids Count, The State of the Child in Tennessee, 2006, a report complied by the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth, states that 186 children were reported as abused or neglected in Putnam County.  We were able to serve 31 of these childen.  How can we help more of these children?  We can help more of our children ONLY by recruiting and training more community volunteers that will speak in the best interest of the child.  People like YOU.

Will you help?

Become A CASA Volunteer:  Are you at least 21 years of age? Do you have a love of children? Can you complete a 30-hour training session? If yes, you can be a voice for abused and neglected children in Putnam County.  Caring is the only experience you need.
